Before I proceed in discribing my past ( thank God ) experience in the amazing middle ages of education that is LFK , let me share with you this story about current LFK events. A birdy told me that someone upset the reigning queen of the Lycee Francais admin Kingdom and putone of her little princesses in a class that she did not chose .
Oh my God, not only that , this new director really thought that he can refuse to change the lists cause in his deep ignorance he did not know that the Queen does what she wants and she only choses the best for her princesses and charming prince. But fear not my friends, she went to his office and showed him who's boss, she did well explain that he can play director with all the parents that are not part of her majesty's family or entourage of course.
The lists got changed and the little princess will now spend the year happily ever after in the class mommy chose for her . and Mr. le nouveau directeur understands now that he can not mess with the queen.... Some poor student was shifted into the class of the teacher her majesty does not trust. who cares about those little people called students as long as her majesty is happy.
TIP: If u cannot befriend the queen to get what you want for your kids , try one of the burgeoning forces- in the making . Be very careful though , dont go very public for you might suffer from the queen's wrath and her publicdisplay of temporary insanity since she loathes the presence of other forces in her kingdom . if you fail to join any of the charming ladies clans you might just have to accept to play crushed parent with the so called new director (as long as he does not override the territories of any of the ladies).

LFK 's Faculty
As a parent you only want the best for your kids, and in the course of things you become irrational about who has to suffer just to insure that your kids get the best of everything. I used to take pride in myself that even though i am an involved mother who wanted the best for her kids , I still considered the welfare of the group and not only my little ones .However , all of that changed when my kids were in LFK. See..... the staff in the Lycee francais de koweit is varied, some of them are more or less qualified than others , but that is not the key.this is usually the case in all schools but all of them have to follow guidelines and conform to the coordinated minimum acceptable level applied by the level coordinator whose job is to insure all students moving from this class to the next have achieved certain benchmark goals .Of course there will be the personal edge of a certain educator and his specific method combined with the dynamics of the group he has on a specific school year that might dictate a higher achieving class but there shold be no student ( let alone entire classes) falling below the line. In the absence of such guidelines and/or consequences each teacher delivers the curricullum at his/her own pace and with her own vision creating huge gaps between the students in the same class level. So if your son/ daughter happens to be with a teacher who does not like to teach 4th grade math he might not get enough of it. There is no horizontal or vertical coordination and each section at any given level is totally different according to the personal preferences and human caprices of its teacher. The gap varies from simple individual strenghts and weaknesses to subject matters being as much as two levels below the curriculum benchmark.therefore at the end of the three years i spent in LFK , i became this monster of a mother who would do whatever so my son/daughter gets the good teacher and some other child gets the lazy , uncaring one who stayed year after year for lack of accountability or follow up. I hated Myself for it.
TIP. you can gain your spot in the good teacher class if you befriend one of the many administrative staff who seem to be able to do wonders for their friends...
